*MERCY SAID NO*
So distressed and unhappy, Mercy laid in her bed with her heart filled with anger. She wasn't happy with herself.
So many things filled her mind at this point.
What she wanted was to sleep, but her emotions wouldn't let her.
'M' failed to show up at the sharing again; she hated disappointments, she hated to anticipate for things that ended up failing to meet up to her expectations.
It was 10pm already, she had no option but to stay put at home and sulk it all up. Her favourite hangout spot had closed at that time.
It was late.
Her favourite hang out spot was called, "Ben Club".
This was were she cleared her head anytime she felt down. She had her 'Beta Malt' to herself each time she needed to create space for good tidings in her heart.
This was were she fought with nature 'tooth and nail'.
As she laid the back of her head on her pink coloured pillow, she felt she was falling apart.
Memories from her past came back to hunt her.
She remembered when she was young, and her female folks refused to play with her because of her size, and how her parent also refused her from having male friends in the name of protecting her from evil.
She could recollect how her father was bent on her reading law in the university, while her dream course was english language.
She could recollect how her dad never brought money for her schooling, from her nursery school days, to her high school and university days. How he even stole money from her younger brother meagre savings.
She remembered how he was lazying about doing nothing while his mates were out there toiling in the rain to feed their various families. How she wished her own father death till he eventually died.
She remembered how she left the Roman Catholic Church to a church her first male friend attended, and how she stopped going to church and believing in christians entirely because that same male friend who was a choirmaster in the church invited her over to his home, drugged and disflowered her.She only attended sharing's on thursdays just to see 'M'
This made her to start hating male folks, took feminism seriously, never derived joy from sex with a man, and said no to holy matrimony, and poverty.
She was on the look out for happiness.
Then that cool wind blew and she slept off, leaving her electric kettle filled with water connected to the socket waiting to be switched on.
